What is the first thing you do when you wake up in the morning? Do you snooze often? Does that make you feel tired even after a long sleep? Successful people have a morning routine which allows them enough time to plan their day and be productive.
As John C. Maxwell said, “You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine.” And for a routine, consistency is a must!
I practice some good morning habits which are easy and quick to do for a positive and healthy life. Read on for a healthy morning routine which most successful people and I vouch for and it’s guaranteed to help you too!
Drink water: Required time – 10 minutes
After a long sleep of 8 hours, the first thing recommended is to drink a glass of warm water. This habit flushes all the toxins out of your body at the start of the day. Add a dash of honey and some lemon juice to derive most benefits from the drink.
Pro tip: If you’re a newbie with this habit and are not a big fan of warm water, you may start with regular water. When I started off, I consumed an extra glass because I’d consume water at room temperature. Today, I manage to consume a big glass of warm water with lemon and a honey twig. As an alternative, don’t miss to try Honey Twigs infused with cinnamon with warm water.
Make your bed: Required time – 5 minutes
Many spiritual leaders suggest finishing any activity you start. I watched a video where Dandapani, a former monk, explained that it is vital to train your mind to finish activities. Sleeping is an act too, and if you make your bed when you’re up, it helps your mind register the fact that the activity is now complete. This will help you remain active mentally.
Pro Tip: Making your bed would take 5 minutes of your day but the freshness felt all day, seeing a clean space, is worth it. I’d recommend you try and see how it helps make a mindset to finish other activities in your day.
Stretch your body: Required time – 5 minutes
If you’re like me who sleeps like a log, stretching is of utmost importance! When your body is well-rested for the night, there are chances you might wake up with a cramp or frozen muscle. Snapping out of your bed on waking up is a big NO! You’d hurt yourself if you do that and it is not recommended by fitness experts.
Pro tip: If you do not wish to stretch after getting out of bed, you can lay in bed for 5 extra minutes and stretch. Win-win for you if you’re someone who likes to laze in bed after waking up!
Feast on a hearty breakfast: Required time – 20 minutes
Start your day with a small fruit or straight dig into your hearty breakfast or a combination of both. You can enjoy it with the goodness of honey from Honey Twigs to give a kickstart to your long day. It’s recommended to include proteins along with some healthy fats and carbs for feeling energized all day. Honey adds good taste and the requisite sweetness along with immunity-boosting enzymes.
